A Futuristic melbourne

FUTURISTIC MELBOURNE

Blog Summary Widget

When I was in high school (background & influences), I

spent idle moments dreaming about a futuristic Melbourne.

Some 10+ years later, as I reflect on those thoughts and the

outputs that resulted from them, it occurs to me that they all

converge on principles of Design & Customer Experience.

The focus areas are of a futuristic Melbourne where:

  1. our PUBLIC TRANSPORT system works as true METRO

  2. shopping centres are the proper ACTIVITY CENTRES,
connected by our integrated/holistic public transport system:

  3. GLEN WAVERLEY

  4. CHADSTONE

  5. WESTFIELD DONCASTER

  6. BOX HILL

  7. my university - MONASH UNIVERSITY (Clayton Campus) - was rebuilt within their original
ring-road design, ideal parking & connected to the trains/buses.

  8. my Church - CHURCH OF CHRIST FELLOWSHIP CLAYTON - was rebuilt “properly”

  9. my High School - HAILEYBURY COLLEGE - didn’t sacrifice their green fields

  10. Significant areas of Melbourne METROPOLITAN and CBD were “done from scratch”
