Social Causes

causes

It should come as no surprise that my Christian beliefs manifest and drive the various causes I have aligned and supported over the years. This page is my attempt to record the various not-for-profit, community/social-focused organisations I have invested into over the years. The focus is not on quantity but instead quality – less is more as well as having a strategic intent. At the end of the day, being able to give back and make a difference in the lives of others who go without is a precious hard-to-quantify standard for living. Combined with my beliefs and faith, I know this aligns with an eternal view, where I store up my riches in heaven.

Current Social Causes

  1. Samaritan’s Purse/Operation Christmas Child (Since 2009)
  2. Good Friday Appeal (Since 2011)
  3. Watoto (Since 2012)
  4. Engage (Since 2013 via Clayton Church)
  5. 89.9 Light FM (Since 2014)

  4. Kids Under Cover (2014 via Terra Firma)

Workplace Social Involvement

Of a similar and parallel nature, over the years I have also been active in various Social Clubs, be it at the educational institution where I studied, or in the workplace:

  1. Haileybury College – School Magazine Editorial Team (1998 – 1999)
  2. Monash University Business Systems Society (2000 – 2003)
  3. Monash University ASEAN Club (2001)
  4. Coles Myer Effective Speaking Club (2004 – 2005)
  5. Terra Firma Social Committee/Club (2007 – 2009, 2013 – 2014)
  6. Monash University, Alumni Mentoring (2008)
  7. Melbourne University Faculty of Bus & Eco, Mentor Program (2012 – current)

If you think I have been busy over these years with all this, then consider Called To Serve where I list out the different ways I have and continue to serve in church, taking note of the overlapping time periods.
