Tax time!

It’s Friday evening and I’m exhausted from a long week at work. Can you believe that we’re now in the final two weeks of an election campaign? Two debates which I have NOT followed in the slightest, and with minimal interest. This morning’s read of the newspaper found me more interested in catching up on the whole Essendon/James Hird vs AFL saga that is underway… OK – I probably need to confess that I do barrack for the Bombers… 🙂 I should also mention that this year I did NOT participate in my office’s annual footy tipping competition, which is a first given I have happily signed up year after year, even though I’m not that into AFL. So, finals season are around the corner and for better or worse, the Bombers look likely to play off in the elimination finals… Who knows just how long they’ll last in the finals?

With studies effectively behind me, this weekend looks like being a tax weekend… but at least all the hard work ahead of me will hopefully translate into a tax refund!

In the last week, I have slowly been working on plugging the gaps of the XBOP website. This endeavour has slowly evolved and branched into areas/activities I hope to continue focusing on. My attention was brought back to the social network/influence metrics platform Klout.com based on some recent activity that translated into a slight up-lift for my Klout score (49)… I discovered I can integrated Yammer into the Klout system, as well as WordPress, so hopefully these measures help to build a more accurate picture of my online presence.

My current list of social involvements are as follows, some of which may overlap and leverage my online social media efforts:

  • Terra Firma Social Club – Newsletter Editor
  • Telstra Social Club – Marketing/Communications
  • Clayton Church – worship team – vocalist & tech crew
  • Clayton Church – Surge cell group – worship
  • UniMelb Faculty of Business & Economics – Career Mentoring Program
  • Melbourne Business School – Alumni
